Our purpose

BritishIndians.org is a community website for people of Indian heritage who live in Kingston upon Hull and the wider East Riding of Yorkshire. Our aim is simple: make it easier to settle in, find useful information and stay connected with others in the region.

What we cover

We focus on practical, everyday topics:

  • Community events and social meet-ups
  • Education, schools and parenting
  • Restaurants, groceries and food
  • Sports, recreation and family activities
  • Housing, relocation and local services
  • Careers, employment and professional networking

Strictly secular

This platform is strictly secular. The site is intentionally welcoming to people of every background, and the conversation stays focused on community life, family, education, work and the local area.

Where we are based

Our focus area covers Kingston upon Hull and the surrounding East Riding of Yorkshire, including Beverley, Hessle, Cottingham, Anlaby, Willerby, Hedon, Hornsea, Bridlington and nearby villages.

A note on content

BritishIndians.org has just launched. Some listings and examples on the site are illustrative starter content and are clearly labelled. We do not publish reviews, ratings or testimonials we have not received from real community members, and we do not fabricate event attendance, business details or member quotes. As the community contributes, the site will grow with verified information.

Get involved

If you'd like to suggest a listing, share an event, contribute information about your area of expertise, or simply say hello, please get in touch. We welcome contributions from anyone in the local Indian community.
